So I was responding to a comment on Google+ earlier with some…er…not as old as me people. We were chatting about the lack of creative lyrics in rap today. I mentioned that artists act like they forget what the P is RAP means, and they were completely clueless as to what I meant. They had no clue that RAP is an acronym (Rhythmic American Poetry). So…how many of you 80s/90s babies out there didn’t know that? Just curious…

I love erotic art. Not lewd or raunchy, but rather images that truly have an artistic appeal. Sometimes there is a very thin line between the two. Creating art that has an erotic side without crossing that line is an art in itself. When someone successfully pulls it off it is a very beautiful thing!

My earliest memory of such was as a child flipping through my father’s record albums. I happened upon Led Zeppelin’s Houses Of The Holy. I later learned that it was a collage of photos featuring a boy and a girl climbing a rock structure called Giant’s Causeway. It was created by a company called Hipgnosis that specialized in making album art. For whatever odd reason that album cover stuck with me, and I’ve sought out images that stirred the same emotions ever since. The entire collage is below:

Today I came across another piece of art that does a fantastic job of dancing on that thin line without falling over. This video features Timothy Bloom & V all wrapped up in this song in more ways than one…

I came across this clip on YouTube of Bryant Gumbel and Katie Couric tying to describe what the internet was on the Today Show back in 1994. It’s funny to me because I remember having similar conversations with people around that time. Most thought it was a fad and businesses didn’t think twice about it. As a matter of fact, it was a tremendous taboo to post advertisements on websites back then! Boy things have changed…
